We always breed for keeps. That means, even if we decide to sell an animal, we will find it difficult to part with our offspring always. What that means for the buyer is that they get an animal that has been carefully and thoughtfully bred.

IRONIC is staying with our herd. Sired by Rainier's Axel Cloud, who we hosted in 2013-2014 here, she exemplifies our breeding program in type, proportion, balance and correct physical conformation. She is one of our up and coming gray producers here. We decided to produce gray huacayas on a smaller scale, using our own foundation girls bred to select outside gray males, so we are taking our time to get to what we consider to be a "quorum" of just the right females to produce grays that will thrill us as much as do elite whites, as that is our goal always. The fleece must be our priority! IRONIC's dam, Hidden Hill's Ado Annie, is our most prolific producer of our future gray foundation females, without a doubt. Then again, her dam, VA Emily, was a truly amazing daughter of Hemingway with serious dam lines that are featured in both modern grays and harlequin grays.

We want people to be as familiar with our foundation animals as they are with our sales list, and we really do not have a lot of variability in terms of quality here, as we aimed to select only the best we could lay our hands on from the outset. The foundation herd affords a buyer to take a deeper look into what a breeding program is all about, I think. Back when I was starting out, I had a standard request that the breeder show me the animals they considered to be their true foundation dams.

We expect to line-breed IRONIC when she shows herself to be ready -- she just turned two -- to our newest Dually son, who is fawn. Sounds like a gutsy move, I know, but if you really want to get something good, you make decisions on this order.

We like to tailor financing to meet the needs of our clients, so we do not have set terms. Everyone has a different set of parameters, just as they do different goals, so a 'one size fits all' approach just makes no sense when talking financing terms.
