Due Process was my very first son of Hidden Hill Peruvian Dually -- he came out beautifully. Three days later, he made a huge leap in our large females' pen, landed badly on his left front leg on the edge of a two by four that made up a 'manure box' for that pen, and his knee was injured. My large animal veterinarian/chiropractor came out the next day, but there was nothing we could do apart from AD supplementation. The damage was done. Now, his dam, Brietta, is a color champion in her own right but has only produced banner offspring previous to Due Process. His fleece is so spectacular that it could be shown. Sad as it is for us, we will be selling Due Process as a fiber/companion animal. He has a gorgeous head, and is a beautifully covered male with a truly elite fleece. He requires no special treatment because of his front leg at all.

I first saw Quetzal when he was a yearling male, while I was visiting and hauling two females home from having been bred at Graceland Alpaca Farm. I did my characteristic abrupt head turn and uttered my famous "WHO IS THAT?" He was just that stunning. Well, I saw him again as a four year old male and he is even better than I remembered. Now that I have his pedigree in front of me, I know why he is so stunning because he truly expresses all the good stuff of which he is made. Can you say true depth of pedigree? Quetzal has it in spades. His sire, My Peruvian Sextann, was a light fawn son of the famous DPA Quetzal, one of the most highly prized males at Magical Farms, and for good reason. Sextann's dam was an Augusto daughter. Quetzal's dam line is equally auspicious. Calix's Anani, Quetzal's dam, is dark silver gray, with her sire a Snowmass Andean Bronze son and her dam, KPR Charisse, sired by a light silver gray son of the great 5P Socosani, also light silver gray and dam sired by Greystoke. Now, yes, Quetzal is medium brown but he has a gray spot. We truly believe this male could be a fantastic addition to a serious gray breeding program. Fleece: density, serious independence of stapling in full evidence even on the fourth fleece. This male has a gorgeous head, and coverage to the toes. He. Is. The. Package.

Hidden Hill Peruvian Dually is our home-bred and born 2009 White Huacaya Male Color Champion at AAA Futurity. He followed that up with the 2009 White Male Huacaya Color Champion at MAPACA. What more could one want? Well, how about winning Judges' Choice at MAPACA? He's done that, too. In fact, the three times his fleece showed, he took championships and the Judge's Choice. However, with the Futurity championship, Dually has met the best of the west, east and all the rest and he has come out on top. Now, when he took those halter class championships, some very big names placed behind him. We generally do not drop names, but the second place finisher in Dually's class at Futurity happened to be Accoyo America Road Warrior. Is Dually a fluke? Well, his two full brothers are excellent examples that that is not the case, and we can even add that the histograms from offspring of the one other proven full brother are almost identical to those offspring sired by Dually. We are seeing AFDs in the 13-14 range and SD compression below 3 rather consistently! We are seeing quite a few 2-handle SDs among his offspring, and that makes us very excited. This boy is white-hot, with a fleece that is elite among the elites, extreme type, excellent conformation, bite and bone. His fleece show scorecards have always shown perfect or near-perfect scores for fineness AND density. What we particularly like about his fleece is the organization approaches that of a top-quality merino, in that the fleece holds together in a high wind, and the matchstick bundles are discreet. Over time, Dually is holding onto an excellent staple length, not something normally associated with an animal that is also holding fineness. We now know that Dually can throw his type and his elite fleece qualities and does so consistently. Dually generally has produced color when bred to color -- okay, the very beautiful Cinnamon's Sugar is the lone exception to date. For those of us that want white, well, he does that, too. Five of his offspring have taken banners thus far, in colors ranging from white to black! How prepotent is this line? Dually offspring all carry his excellent type and fleeces, well, here are some stats: Dually Honored: 13.3 AFD, 2.8 SD, 21.0 COV, 100% CF Bella Luna: 13.3 AFD, 2.5 SD, 19.1 COV, 0.1% >30 Dually Noted: 14.2 AFD, 3.1SD, 21.5 COV, 100% CF Starshine: 14.8 AFD, 3.4SD, 22.8 COV, 0.7% >30 Bling Bling: 15.5 AFD, 4.0SD, 24.5 COV, 0.9% >30 Present Perfect: 16.8 AFD, 3.5SD, 20.5 COV, 100% CF Parasol: 17.5 AFD, 3.4SD, 19.5 COV, 0.6% >30 Truly, this is a unique line, and it is dam-driven -- if you know what that means. Sure, Caligula is in his pedigree, but his granddam and his own dam are driving this bus!

Sure, she is twelve years old. So, big deal. She is still stunning and is one of the healthiest females we have. And she just bred to Commander, our hosted son of the amazing Snowmass Star Quest. I have no doubt already that Randi is BRED. Star Quest was sired by Snowmass Accoyocusani (Augusto), and his dam was a Vengador daughter. Commander's dam is an Accoyo Godfather daughter. This offspring will carry the incredible Alianza dam line of NAVIDAD three times, as Randi is a Cannonero daughter. This is both a depth of pedigree breeding and a cunning line breeding of one of the most celebrated dam lines ever to hit the US. So, you could buy Randi and it would be a very smart move.

It is very hard for me to believe that Alessandra is 12 years old! I am sure she would also be amazed. But if you want big, gorgeous, full Accoyo with excellent lineage, Alessandra is that. If you want a powerhouse producer who has had all females except for two stud quality males, Alessandra is that, too. If you want an excellent mom who always has those crias up and nursing by the time you check the barn in the morning, Alessandra is that as well! Now, I do not necessarily breed a full Accoyo to a full Accoyo here. Oh, to be sure, if the best match in the barn is a full Accoyo, then sure, I will do that, and it is not as though we do not have a spectacular full Accoyo male here, but she has a son by him from 2016 with whom I am well pleased. This year, I wanted to change the game a bit for Alessandra. I wanted a male that had all the goods in fleece and was proving that, not only with his offspring, but in his own mature fleece. Pacific Crest Da Vinci has one of the best fleeces anyone could conjure for a fourteen year old male -- it rivals what you would hope to see on a four year old male, to be perfectly honest. And is he studly! So, the result from this pairing will be 7/8 Accoyo. Big deal and who cares -- if you are breeding a female with all these strengths to a male this amazing, the results should be as good as it gets. Alessandra's daughters and sons have all sold, except I have Accoyo Zenyatta from 2014 (who is another fabulous mom, just like her own mom) and I still have Accoyo Royal Gambit, her 2016 son of our own Accoyo Goodfella.

If you want proven, with nothing short of a stellar maternal record, look no further than Danu. For us, she has only had males, but oh what males they are. We sold her silver gray son to a breeder in Pennsylvania. Her TB son sired by a modern rose gray named El Camino Real will be for sale, BUT we are keeping her dark fawn son, Fire In The Lake, who is sired by our own Futurity white color champion, Hidden Hill Peruvian Dually. Fireman has a truly exquisite fleece. To this day, Danu has no halo of primaries and a very soft handle to her fleece. Her pedigree is studded with all the right stuff, but I have always admired the Derwydd program. Danu has been bred to a modern medium rose gray male, Granite Excalibur, who we are excited to host for his first breedings!

While her farm name is Lena, Stormy Weather hit the ground running and she is a credit to both her gorgeous dam and sire. We own her sire, who was the 2012 Canadian Futurity Brown CC and came to the States and took a bunch of banners here. He's a High Plains Hurricane son out of a Super Sam dam. His offspring have bannered across the nation, and there is a Judge's Choice female who took those honors at GWAS. It took very little coaxing for me to decide that, if I were to acquire an outcross male, this was the one I would want. Now, her dam is no slouch and is one of our keeper Dually daughters. Dually was the 2009 Futurity White CC and went on the next week to take the CC and Judge's Choice at MAPACA. So, sire is a Canadian Futurity CC and grandsire is an American Futurity CC. How cool is that? Lena is a beautiful, well grown out female. She possesses the head that both her sires can confer. Do we have to trim her topknot on occasion? Yes, we do. We opted to breed Lena to Commander, who is an amazing son of Snowmass Star Quest. We also love the fact that one of our old favorite stud males we owned sired his dam. His pedigree is utter perfection, really, and he has that zipper crimp that will match up beautifully with Stormy Weather!
